Can anyone tell be why GB didn't send a team to the MLAIC world long range champs that we're just held in Adelaide Australia? Not a team or even a single shooter?

Photo Smith Fowler information
Posted by: mmcalc - 25-10-2017, 05:29 AM - Forum: Shotgun - Replies (3)

I have a flintlock fowler and I am wondering if anyone can shed light on its age. The lockplate is engraved SMITH. There is no engraving on the top of the barrel. The underside of the barrel is proofed with pre 1813 London proofs and is stamped "TWISTED STUBBS" and the number 25. The vent is gold bushed.  The engraving on the plate seems to be very similar to guns made by William Smith. Thank you for any information that you can pass on.

Sale: .50 Thompson Center Hawken flintlock
Posted by: woodsman - 21-10-2017, 02:48 PM - Forum: Sales & Wants - No Replies

Hello all,

For sale is my Thompson Center Hawken rifle in .50 calibre. Flintlock ignition with loads of life left in the frizzen and a strong, reliable spark with English flint. Lovely condition with excellent woodwork, brass furniture and clean bore. Features double set trigger, 28" barrel, 1:48" twist and shoots patched ball extremely accurately indeed. Overall a carefully maintained example of a now sadly discontinued rifle, which began life as an $800 American made firearm, not to be confused with the poor quality European Hawkens of recent years.

£250 (firm) face to face, Wolverhampton area. RFD shipping available at buyer's expense.

Thanks for looking!

Woodsman.

Hi, I am not a member at present ,I was for many years until illness stopped me. I shot at Wedgenock and Bisley. I have decided to get back into some muzzleloading . I am interested in the 50 metre  smooth military musket shooting . Is it a requirement to have these on fac , or can one have and shoot them on a shotgun cert? thanks.

Anyone in charge have any idea when we are likely to see the pistol results from last weeks OTF?  I notice that the rifle results were posted the following day, but so far no sign of anything else.
