.45/70 Sharps made by Chapparal (IAB)
#1
I have a Sharps copy as above. At the range recently I had a primer blow out into the firing pin aperture. I managed to remove the primer. However when I replaced the falling block the under lever would not stay in place and the block flopped down. It would appear whatever was holding the lever and hence the block in the breech closed position was absent. I tried a Pedersoli spring but it didn't fit. From what I can deduce from the drawings I have seen it is some kind of compressed spring arrangement. I would be grateful if anyone on the forum could enlighten me!! Many thanks.
