Pedersoli serial numbers
#1
I have been offered a Pedersoli rifle, I am told it is a Hawken .45, the serial no. is SN86625, I thought if I looked on the Pedersoli web site or entered the detail in GoggleI would be able to find out more about the rifle. Nothing about serial numbers has come up. Is there a data base of numbers that I just haven't found?

What are you expecting to find out about the rifle from the serial number? Pedersoli web site gives detail of the Hawken and an exploded view parts diagram. If you are trying to work out how old the rifle is, look at the proof marks and do a web search for Italian Proof Mark Date Codes - you should be able to ascertain when the barrel was proofed.

Thank you for your reply, I will look for and research the proof marks as a starting point for finding out more about this particular rifle.

I e-mailed Pedersoli directly about a rifle and from the serial number they told me the year it was made. For what that's worth.
