Draft Offensive Weapons Bill
On 20th June the UK Government presented the draft Offensive Weapons Bill before parliament concerning certain firearms, knives and corrosive substances. To summarise the firearms part:
  • Any rifle capable of producing over 10,000ftlb of muzzle energy will be made Section 5 (effectively banned)

  • Any rifle with the exception of .22 Rimfire rifles which eject the spent case by using waste gas (blowback) or via a mechanism that is powered by the waste gas (eg: piston) will be made Section 5 (effectively banned)
    • This will catch both MARS actions and Lever Release guns.
  • [size=undefined]Bump stocks or similar devices will be banned.[/size]

  • [size=undefined]There will be a mechanism for compensation
